That means carbohydrates for energy, protein to build muscle and even some fat. Having meals that include these nutrients along with plenty of water will help with energy level when you work out. « less
- Leah, I have a relative who recently found out she is borderline diabetic. She knows diet and exercise play major roles in keeping this situation under control. In your opinion, what are the best food choices she can make in helping her body regulate the insulin.

I would strongly recommend that she get nutritional counseling with a registered dietitian or certified diabetes educator (CDE). It is important that she understands how to balance her diet and count carbohydrates to keep her blood sugar under control. Her physician should refer her to a diabetes education program. « less
